SUBJECT: DELAY IN CUSTOMS CLEARING DUE TO IMPLEMENTATION OF DAY TIME TRUCK BAN
Please be informed that there will be delay in customs clearing for NORTH & SOUTH HARBOR, due to the series of protests done by TRUCKERS ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES. Last Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, no shipments were released because TRUCKERS decided to do a protests implementing a day time truck ban from 9PM-5AM only, violators will be apprehended to Php 5,000 or the vehicle will be impounded. This will greatly affect our operations, because the unloading will be done in night time only, unlike before we can do it anytime of the day. Since Monday, no containerized shipments were released.
Our shipments which arrived last Saturday, Feb 22, are already cleared for customs and ready for delivery, but because of the protests and TRUCKERS are not accepting deliveries, and containers are pending in the Customs.
We are hoping normal operations will be resumed on Friday for us to start the deliveries.
For your info and guidance.

Please be informed that no transfer/delivery of boxes to Tacloban, and the rest of Eastern Visayas(Samar Leyte) . TACLOBAN is totally destroyed. With the damaged brought by Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan, nobody can access Eastern Visayas, except for the relief operations. Philippine government focused on sending relief goods by using helicopters, and until this time, airport and seaports are non operational.
Also, some towns in Cebu are not serviceable, towns are Bogo, San Remegio, Sta. Fe, Madridejos, Bantayan and Tabogon.
Coron, Palawan, some part of Iloilo & Negros Occidental are also among the affected areas of the typhoon.
Further, delays in the transit time bound to Visayas & MIndanao will be expected, since domestic carriers prioritize sending relief goods to these areas.
